11 Mar Timelapse Tuesday – Mt. Hood

Time-lapse photography is something that has always inspired me. The way that it shifts one’s perception, showing how tiny we are in the grand scheme of things, how fast the world really goes.

It had been a long time since I did one, and that hurts. They have always been a challenge to capture given the required amounts of patience and timing. These two set ups are the beginning of a whole new batch, and hopefully some short films. Each one is about an hour in real time, and utilizes about 200 photos. Thinking about this, I know I have a long way to go, but that it will be worth it. Stay tuned for the adventure.

The first shot is a set up at Cloud Cap, on the back side of Mt. Hood, earlier this year in January, then the second is one at Trillium Lake near sunset. I utilize the following equipment for both:

Nikon D7000
Nikon 35mm F1.8
Internal Interval Timer
